Clarks win Mixed Doubles National Championship

 
Seattle's Brady and Cristin Clark extended their mixed curling dynasty in the United States by winning yet another Mixed Doubles National Championship. They will represent the U.S. at the 2012 World Mixed Doubles Championship April 23-29 in Erzurum, Turkey.
Brady and Cristin won the Mixed Doubles Nationals last year and 2009. They've are the U.S. Mixed Champions eight of the last ten years.

Three Washington Teams to Compete in Cloverdale Cash Spiel

Teams skipped by Wes Johnson (Brady Clark, Darren Lehto and Steve Lundeen),  Sean Beighton (Andrew Ernst, Sam Galey, Mac Guy) and Cristin Clark (Sharon Vukich, Em Good, Beth LeBeau) from Seattle's Granite Curling Club will be competing September 15-17 at the season-opening Cloverdale Cash Spiel in Surrey, British Columbia.  Many of the best teams in the lower mainland as well as national teams from Russia will be participating in the early season event.   

 

Block A:  Mallett, Privivkova, Prince, Houle, Burkitt

Block B:  Lewis, Zyablikova, Backe, Wark, Andrews

2012 Mixed Doubles Nationals Sign-Up Available

 

The United States Curling Association has opened registration for the 2012 U.S. Mixed Doubles Championship, to be held in Boston, MA in December.

Ernst and Westhagen representing USA in New Zealand

  Andrew Ernst and Jennifer Westhagen are traveling to Naseby, New Zealand to participate in the 100% Pure New Zealand Winter Games, where Mixed Doubles play will begin on Saturday, August 20th.  They will participate in a full ten team round robin against teams from Australia, China, Finland, Hungary, Japan, Latvia, New Zealand, and the reigning world champions from Switzerland.

Wenatchee Desert Rocks Bonspiel

I take great pleasure in inviting rinks and individual curlers to Wenatchee Curling Club’s 1st Annual Invitational Open “Desert Rocks Bonspiel!” A Flyer, Registration Form, & Important Hotel Information for this bonspiel event is attached.  Please look it over!  We are so anxious to make this event special for visiting curlers as well as our Wenatchee Valley community.

The schedule has been set now for the 2011-12 season of the Region 11 Men's Bonspiel Tour. Please see the schedule below along with a reminder of rule changes that will be implemented.

El Guz's Washington Rink Captures Silver at the PIC

The Pacific International Cup was held at the Richmond Curling Club, April 20-25.  Washington's rink skipped by Benj Guzman and teammates Paul Lyttle, Richard Burmeister, and Jeremy Dinsel dominated the blue pool during round robin play, dropping only two of their seven games to Langley's Richard Brower and Northwest Territories Paul Delorey's rinks late in the round robin.

Washington's Brady and Cristin Clark finished the World Championship Mixed Doubles event with an appearance in the quarter-final game against the team from France.  Their play-off appearance is the best showing for the United States since the Mixed Doubles event began four years ago.  Despite their loss, they finished with a 5-3 record.  

 

Switzerland dominated Russia in the Gold Medal event, winning with a score of 11-2, while France went on to earn bronze over Sweden 8-6.
